Mill Valley - August 1996. Since the Celebration of the Centennial of The Mt Tamalpais Scenic Railroad , we have devoted ourselves to continue to keep the history of the Mt Tamalpais Scenic Railroad alive ! In that spirit, we have been so fortunate to finally have purchased the last remaining locomotive that still exists, that at one time ran on our railroad.
The NO9 Heisler.
We want to bring it HOME !!! But of course, with that comes its challenges ! We need to restore and relocate this wonderful piece of history in order to return it to the place where it was built to be.
The Mt Tamalpais and Muir Woods Scenic Railway.
Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
Here's the latest.....
PHASE ONE - "The Move"
SCOTIA, CA - 11/26 thru 11/28
Well..... this time ..... We finally did it !!! All of the "Legal Beagles" and the "Heavy Duty Movers and Shakers " were able to converge and move our No9 and its surrounding assets. ALL of No9's long time friends , all that have stood together for so long for the sake of the history of steam power, have found new homes in a place that will care for them as much as we will care for our No9 .
Its such a great end to this first and most difficult phase . It is SO hard to get the ball rolling on projects such as these .
It is rolling my friends !!! Stay tuned for more events to come !!!
